A 100% culture and pleasure experience
A flagship destination celebrating the French art of living, the Cité tells the story of—and brings to life—the values recognized by UNESCO: the Gastronomic Meal of the French and the Climats of the Burgundy vineyards. A true showcase blending heritage preservation with modern architecture in the heart of Dijon, it stands at the starting point of the Route des Grands Crus and the Gastronomy Valley. Today, the Cité shines as a place for sharing, dedicated to taste, the promotion of local products, and the transmission of know-how.
At the heart of a two-fold Unesco recognition

The Gastronomic Meal of the French
In 2010, the Gastronomic Meal of the French was inscribed on UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Unique to France, this meal is above all a moment of sharing and conviviality. It reflects the art of “eating well and drinking well” so dear to the country. On festive occasions, guests carefully choose and prepare ingredients, pass down gestures and recipes, set a beautiful table, and enjoy the meal together while engaging in conversation about food.

The Climats of the Burgundy Vineyards
In 2015, the Climats of the Burgundy vineyards were inscribed on the World Heritage List as a cultural landscape. The term “Climat” has been used by Burgundians since the Middle Ages to designate a wine-producing terroir. It is defined by a specific parcel of vines, a grape variety, exposure, soil, and viticultural know-how. Each parcel is vinified separately, producing a unique wine. The Climats thus form the very essence of the Burgundian viticulture model. To navigate this landscape, each Climat has its own name!
