Children’s activities

At La Cité, even the youngest get involved! There are lots of fun and tasty activities on offer to give children the opportunity to enjoy good things.

Kids Cook!

Children’s favourite chef, Olivier Chaput, returned to the Cité with the entire team from the festival Kids Cook! He had put together a special programme for young audiences featuring savoury and sweet cooking workshops, as well as fun activities to learn all about good table manners.

Festival #BON 2026

For the days of the BON 2026 Festival, the Cité offered immersive and interactive experiences, from farm to fork. On the programme: a producers’ market, culinary shows by chefs, eco-nature workshops, health activities for children, sport for all, and large-scale foodie games!

Tiny Tots Festival

Tastes, flavours, colours and shapes come together through the fruits, vegetables and dishes found in ancient books. Through this sensory awakening, young and old alike discovered or rediscovered the beauty and diversity of nature and the food it produces.

Gourmet creations & creative activities

Children have the opportunity to have fun, express their creativity and learn through mini-workshops, craft workshops, story readings and parent-child activities.

Asia for Young and Old

Explore the roads of Asia with chef Pierre Emmanuel! Let yourself be guided through rice fields and forests to create one savoury and one sweet recipe! Set sail for a day of cooking bursting with flavour!

The corner for gourmands and budding cooks

Children are in heaven at La Cité! As the seasons changed, the little ones learnt a few tips for a balanced diet from the Léo Lagrange network and Interfel the fresh fruit and vegetable association. They also shared special moments with chefs, such as the culinary workshop led by chef Justine Piluso or the chocolate workshop at the Bernard Loiseau tribute festival and the masterclasses at the FERRANDI school.

Little explorers discover La Cité

Through fun treasure hunts, Easter egg hunts and exhibition visits the children had the pleasure of discovering all the treasures of La Cité de la Gastronomie.

Eating well is a science!

During the winter holidays, science and food are on the menu! Children can take part in a range of fun experiments to gain a better understanding of the science behind what they eat. Through playful workshops, they explore the transformations of everyday foods such as eggs and milk as well as surprising recipes such as the Fraise Tagada (Tagada Strawberry)! The aim is to give youngsters a taste for preparing their own food so they can better understand what’s inside.
